2 yearsThis is over not being able to install kernel anticheat on linux. However that same Apex anticheat was used to hack players devices during a tournament earlier this year.

just wanted to also provide an alt video link to the hack that occurred for anyone that has Ublock Origin or Privacy Badger enabled:

I should also practice providing Invidious/Peertube links👍

2 yearsYep, precisely why I don’t play kernel anticheat games.
Considering 99.9999% of all the games out there don’t have it, and I have a selection of games large enough to last a lifetime, I don’t lose sleep over that decision.

I am convinced that kernel AC is… mostly on games that have a fuckton of cosmetics. Let’s see, who’s against Linux specifically? Destiny, even if it was in Stadia and that was Linux. Fortnite. Ubisoft has it on juuuuuust a select few games, everything else they’re happy to see on every platform.
They don’t care about cheaters, they’re protecting the micro transactions.

Not surprised. They banned me for playing on linux earlier. They never got a cent out of me so nothing lost. Never drop cash on f2p slop.

I’m guessing the player base is fairly low and they’re trying to appease investors after their “poor performance” this year.

If they wanted to increase player numbers surely they’d make something new instead of more micro transactions. EA seems less like a games studio but a capitalist venture of extracting the maximum amount of profit from something
