  • Why? If they want to be here, they can apply like everyone else. I don’t want taxpayer funding going to some stupid advertising scheme to convince “the good ones” to come here.

      Canada is only the size of California population wise. If you want to be able to defend Canada and grow the economy, you need more people.

      • Sure, and we have lots of immigrants already, including from the US. We take in around 300,000-500,000 immigrants every year. Why should Canada specifically do (and spend) more so that we can get more Americans to come here? I know Americans want that, but why should we do it? I don’t see a benefit.

        We’re even passing legislation lately that makes it so that we take in fewer people. Why would we change that for Americans?
