For the price? Yeah absolutely. I got mine really discounted and it holds up, my partner has an oled which looks great and I like the larger screen, but not sure if $300 more is worth it for everyone. You can get a solid case & screen protector, battery bank and upgrade the ssd for nearly that.
Two-spirit it’s (to my knowledge) very much tied to indigenous culture, recognising people who fulfill a traditional third gender, you’ll see 2S included a lot in Canada, official government stuff uses 2SLGBTQI+.

SMAPI has a .sh in their release zip that sets it up for you, and their wiki is pretty solid if you’re wanting to do it through proton instead of the native application. I gave the nexus mod app a try, works pretty well but without premium you need to download mods individually, having an actual mod manager is nice though.
I’ve done rimworld modding running that through proton, but rimworld has workshop support and various mod managers so that was really easy to do (and plays pretty well, but I played rimworld on the og steam controller in the past so was kinda used to it)
Just setup mods for my partner’s steamdeck, ended up putting stardew Very expanded on both our decks and doing a new playthrough, needed to tweak a few settings as a chunk of mods seem to expect keyboard/mouse controls.
Runs pretty well all things considered, it’s added an overwhelming amount of stuff.
Decky has a Powertools plugin, what I’ve been doing, can set per game profiles and restrict charge rates as well with that.
I bought the LCD when it was really steeply discounted, like nearly $280 CAD before taxes and duties for a new one. I bought my partner an oled one and the screen is strikingly different to me, size makes a difference and it’s a lot more vibrant (+ HDR).
The LCD is a solid machine and a great value, I like my partner’s screen and battery life but I don’t know if it’s worth spending twice the price. Regardless, both are really easy to service, way more comfortable than the switch is too.
I’ve been playing rogue trader on mine recently, I’d describe as playable, but it’s night and day different going through moonlight (which yeah, obviously). Satisfactory was able to get 40-60 pretty reliably.
How bad is bg3 on it?
Trying to be vague as heck in the spoilers, totally get it! Don’t think there’s anything there that’s super spoilery (I hope!) But definitely play it safe.

Bookstore to show up again, even having dice, drafting off a library or secret passage, just refused to show up.
I know there are
ways to manipulate it or influence like the chess puzzle, but my drafts suuuuuucked, just weight rooms and archives constantly or dead ends as my choice. Probably not running an optimal strategy but was kinda hard to do when I had no other options. Would get screwed over constantly trying to power the lab too.
Got tedious/frustrating at times but did overall enjoy it.
I got the dbrand grip for it with stick grips, it’s actually really nice to hold, certainly better than my switch lite (seriously that thing gives me RSI, really needed something to grip onto.) Which also has a kickstand attachment if you want. It’s overall though very comfortable, I find it better to hold up over propping it up with something, seems to keep it at a more natural angle for me.
I also switched to clicky buttons on mine, it’s definitely a preference but they feel better to me vs the stock ones on my partner’s.
Dd is a solid option, I’ve used to image emmc modules, make CD isos, clone drives etc., but Clonezilla is a great tool to have around and quite literally purpose built for cloning and imaging disks, that’s how I’d do it myself.
I swear I recall a “big picture mode” config in steam in the past but can’t seem to find that at all now either, sorry I don’t have an answer for you.
Morrowind (OpenMW) with Just good Morrowind it’s been a long time since I’ve done a full playthrough.
There’s a profile I tried on my desktop during update 8 that wasn’t terrible on an xbox controller, it’s surprisingly playable imo, works well with action groups, probably be way nicer on the deck with something like rotary menus on the trackpads and using the back buttons for modifiers.
I’d give it a try anyhow, just probably going to need some fiddling to get where you want.
I’m replaying through the Metroid Prime Trilogy again, primehack is amazing.
I don’t use mine much anymore but I still have it out, was a really cool idea and while it had a learning curve, definitely made controller gaming possible with a lot of titles, steam input in general these days is fantastic for that but even so I’d totally buy a steam deck layout steam controller v2.
If you can swing it, Sabrent makes some nvme enclosures for the 2230 size the deck uses https://sabrent.com/collections/nvme-enclosures/products/ec-ne30 that are super reasonable price wise, https://sabrent.com/collections/nvme-enclosures/products/ec-snveis for full size and is also super reasonable. What I did for mine and my partner’s decks upgrading from a 512 GB ssd, if you have drive space you could do with one enclosure. I use the old ssd as a removable drive now so it doesn’t got to waste.
Ssd is the way to go for sure, SD card is nice to have but it’s very noticeably slower for some things, I tend to use it for emulators and games I don’t play frequently.
