It’s a U-shaped pillow, that you put around your waist. You can also find them advertised as “gaming pillows”, for 5 times the price.

Or you can get essentially the same for cheap from IKEA:

It may look silly to most people, but it actually looks like a great accessibility device. Assuming it can hold the device without support from the user it would be great for someone who struggles to hold it up or keep their arms bent - use a bluetooth controller on their lap and they’re good to go.

The GoPro Mount is made by Mechanism, creators of Deckmate and its associated ecosystem. That means that you’ll need the sold separately Deckmate grip before you can even attempt to strap your Steam Deck onto your GoPro harness.

It’s a GoPro mount so you can probably find accessories to attach it to your kitchen aid if you want

1 yearWhat an overkill of a device…
I once came across some random woman who uploaded hours and hours of videos of her life on YouTube. It was just cameras in her house. She slept in the middle of the room. Extremely weird. Anyways back on topic, she had a metal arm that was mounted on the end of her bed which allowed her to have her phone above her head.
Thanks for reading.
at first I was like this could be great and then the adapter 20 bucks and its like eff the right off.

There’s a version of this you can 3D print. It’s on printables. Works well for slouch gaming.

PC Gamer magazine and shilling dumb ideas. Name a more iconic duo

As someone who has the mechanism mount mainly for the Kickstand, the Mechanism guy is just doing shit. He made a GoPro adapter and then stuck the Steam Deck on everything he could for the marketing email.
It is a dumb idea, he even mentioned that in the email.

Fair, but the title for the PC Gamer title sounds like the writer is taking it seriously, and they’ve had enough braindead takes they they don’t get the benefit of the doubt from me anymore. I refuse to even click on the article.
Personally, I’m not a fan of Deck Mate, but I don’t have a beef with the designer. My issue is with PC Gamer magazine
