Not OP but in addition to the water consumption you already mentioned, flooded rice fields also produce a lot of methane due to the oxygen-free conditions at the bottom and the abundance of organic material.
This could be mitigated if fields would be drained periodically.

Sadly, politicians across Europe spent decades catering to car manufacturers, treating them as untouchable moneymakers. The industry in turn grew lazy and saw no reason to innovate. We’re stuck with outdated combustion engine cars that hardly anyone wants. While European companies were asleep, China moved ahead and built up its own electric car industry. Now Europe finds itself needing rare earths and has to hope that cooperation still outweighs competition.
It is sadly no surprise that intelligence agencies act as if they are above the law. In some cases they shockingly are.
