I can tell you from firsthand experience it’s even worse than that. I had a washer that lasted me damn near 20 years that was made in the 90s. Finally decided to get a new set from Samsung. Made it just past warranty, or basically 1 year. The repair would have cost as much as the washer was new. Similar experience with an LG fridge. Bought it and the ice machine broke in it, TWICE, within the first year. Fuck these brands and their established hold on the market.

This is a whole lot of messed up. Honestly didn’t know the situation with Gene as he had faded from popularity and was obviously getting on in age. Just thinking of that situation though, absolutely horrible. The only thing I can hope is that Gene was far enough gone he didn’t realize his wife was dead, but even then. If you already own a steamdeck they sell replacement shells. Be forewarned though installation is absolutely insane and takes a loooot of time. I’ve had white installed on mine for about a year and have had no issues with it yellowing.
