You don’t need to open the shell and access the internals if you are making a controller sweater and it wouldn’t void your warranty. That is not what Valve is warning about. They ask you to not fuck with the internals unless you know what you are doing.

And what would be the reason to open up the shell in the first place? To mess with the electronics inside. Which is only recommended to people that know what they are doing because of the risk to break it.

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•Steam Controller page updated: $99 USD, releases May 4th
22 daysI am so hyped! I really hope that they will have two controllers for me in stock.
I have been waiting for this day since the launch of the original Steam Controller. The only problem I had with the old one is the missing second thumb stick, which won’t be a problem any more!

I am playing it right now and I can also recommend Tale of Two Wastelands!
I just finished up the main story and DLCs in Fallout 3 and just got to New Vegas. This is my first time playing any of those games.
Limo works great as a Mod Organizer replacement on Linux

World News@lemmy.ml•Ukrainian men dragged away outside Kyiv nightclubs and restaurants by army recruiters
2 yearsY’all are fucking clowns for defending the Russian invasion of Ukraine and saying that Ukrainians should just give up.
How about all the Russians getting forced in to a war just to die? Where is the criticism of Putin and his regime and the atrocities that he commits? Oh, that’s right, it doesn’t fit the narrative that mother Russia is superior to everyone else and deserve to take Ukrainian land.
It’s pretty obvious that you’re just fascist. It’s going full circle in here.
Fucking clowns 🤣 Clowns living in a clown world is what you are 🤡🤡🤡
Wow… I had a look at the commit history and it doesn’t seem like any actual development is taking place. Just changes and removal of text here and there.
Why put all this energy in to making a website and host a fork when you don’t do anything with it?
Botw is easily a 9/10 for me . Totk too. I really like Nintendos take on open world. However, I still appreciate the other Zelda games a lot and I hope they don’t completely abandon that linear formula

2 yearsI am not scared of Tencent. I deleted my Epic Account based on principle. The Tencent buy-in was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

2 yearsDoesn’t matter to me if they didn’t completely buy Epic. I’m out. And luckily I don’t care much for major gaming companies any more. I’m sick and tired of the same uninspired garbage riddled with micro transactions coming out these days. Indie games is where it’s at these days. At least those developers seem to love what they do and respect their players time. They also aren’t afraid to try something new

2 yearsThat’s why I deleted my Epic Games account when they got bought by Tencent. Though their support was not happy I was exercising my GDPR rights and it took a lot of back and forth with them before they finally deleted it.
The past two month I have played lots of Zelda. I finished Breath of the Wild and now I am working my way through Tears of the Kingdom.
Two superb games if I say so myself! Unfortunately TotK could have better performance on the Deck but it’s playable with the right settings. For BotW I played the Wii U version with great performance

You understand that you can use CAD files to make custom internal components too, right? It’s not only for making skins or cosmetic surface changes.
You can 3D print an entire new shell for the controller but replacing the shell requires that you remove all of the components to then put them back in to the new shell. And that I would consider advanced. Not recommended for people that do not know what they are doing.
