I mainly played on PS3 for years from release and that was never a thing…
The console got plenty of updates but never the controller.

I have NEVER heard of any controller before this current generation needing firmware upgrades.
Even the launch model PS4 controller I use on my PC never asked for an update and still works fine…

As if half the games on the Steam store weren’t repacks of mobile shovelware anyway.
Now the real question is.
Can I emulate WiiU games on my Desktop PC while using the Steamdeck as the pad/2nd screen?
MC3 works great in PCSX2 on Deck.
There’s also Midnight Club L.A. Remix for the PSP which I recently 100%'d through PPSSPP. It’s closer gameplay wise to MC3 than the full console version of Los Angeles.
Sadly Midnight Club Los Angeles still kinda sucks to emulate at the moment. but someone is working on a re-compilation of the game for PC. But seems like that going to take a while even if things go well…
Depends if Valve also require disclosure if “frame-generation” was used in the benchmark.
Very easy to claim a game runs at 4K 60fps when it’s actually 720p 30fps with blurry up-scaled frames in-between.
