Nuclear Power is heavily subsuidezed in France. Most in france related to nuclear are state institutions. Including the Energy Company EDF and the scientific institute CEA. It is often phrased as a state-in-state with a lot of undisclosed structures and money funds. They were created when France saw in the 60s that they need also a nuclear bomb and hence developed a state-close structure that until today in not giving out too much informations. The French citizens pay with their taxes for their nuclear power plants. Heavily. And they hide it behind a lot of structures. Who is paying for the construction? The Repair? The Decomission? - Right: French citizens. If if calculate all these cost into the bill, Nuclear energy is one of the most expensive energy forms there are.

The real reason is, that right now and in the next decade, all the Boomers ago going to retire and this piece of shit Merz tried everything with his party for the last 20 years to not solve the problem on how the retirement fund will handle all these boomers. So his fucked up answer? Let the young again and again cut back for the Boomers to have a flourish retirement.

I’m still at awe how we are living in post-reddit times, where a title can just be changed. Just like that. There is actually a map for that.

The independent states would trade goods and concessions like any US or EU state would, gaining their own regional wealth with any tradingpartner - and each other that would unleash a lot of developmental potential. Parts of east Russia could be a second Canada. The problem will be, that in the case of a state implosion, the collaps could lead to an annexation of the eastern parts by china, justified e.g. by ethnic arguments. In the case of a revolution (slim chance with russians), those states could be hold by a future russian democratic republic. It is mainly in the hand of Russians - and its not looking good.
