Wife has been binging Law and Order SVU recently and I noticed there’s a lot of episodes where they have abused children turn into abusive adults, with the explanation that it’s a natural response of the brain trying to get in a position where it will never be vulnerable again.

No idea if that theory has any merit, but if true I wonder if that can also happen in a larger scale, to an entire society instead of just to an individual.

If you buy from some small Latin American or Asian brand there’s a decent chance they might not be involved with child labor (but never any guarantee). Bolsonaro was recently criticing Lula, saying things like: “how dare he speaks up to Trump, as if our country had any relevance. He should shut up and just do what Trump tells him to”.

In theory, yes. In practice, dealing with games is not so straightforward. Even the steam deck’s “suspend” is still far behind the Nintendo switch’s. In some games (older stuff, usually) the games don’t get paused at all, or it pauses the image but keeps the sound playing, or even sometimes appears to work properly, but then drains your battery just as fast as it you were playing - suggesting it is still processing the whole game in the dark.

Are their printers bad? I haven’t even tried any in decades because their business practices are so awful, but I always thought that at the very least the printers themselves should be good.

Sadly, Brother’s printers might be going on the same direction now.

If the competition make some good portables, Valve will probably leave the hardware to them and focus only on the software.

Some projects will end up being a waste of resources, but others end up printing a ton of money.

That may be the main reason why people use or even create emulators, but there are still legitimate uses for emulators. It’s like banning couples from riding the same motorcycle because two people on a bike is usually a robbery.

Every now and then you run into games where you lose a ton of time trying to figure out a good controller mapping to play it properly, but in terms of working, most stuff do.

Oh and the battery can drain out pretty fast too.
