Reading this article was sort of like listening to her talk about her church.

At this point, I don’t even think they’d bother pretending otherwise. Trump would go on Truth.social and post an unhinged screed that pretty much boiled down to “Serves 'em right.”
And the media wouldn’t even raise an eyebrow.

It was a brilliant bit of theater, just like their mass drone response to Israel’s last provocation.
In both cases now, Iran has managed to make Israel, and now the US, look both antagonistic and foolish. Their precisely measured responses really highlight the fact that they didn’t provoke either of these fights, that they have no intention of engaging in pointless bloodshed, but that, if pressed, they can and will respond in kind.
It makes them look like the only adults in the room.
Exactly as intended.

And the 1% are going to ride it out in their purpose-built private enclaves, then buy the world at disaster auction prices and make themslves into feudal lords.
Are we actually asking if an utterly vile, demonstrably corrupt, entirely self-serving psychopath who’s overseeing a genocide, a violent incremental land grab and repeated attempts to provoke wars with four different neighbors has “finally lost America?”
Every time I think this timeline couldn’t possibly be more fucked up, it shocks me yet again.
And again I find myself wondering by what purported authority it is that Israel “approves” the construction of settlements on someone else’s land.
That’d be like reading that the Mexican government had “approved” the construction of Mexican settlements in Texas.
