O! had I the ability, and could I reach the nation’s ear, I would, today, pour out a fiery stream of biting ridicule, blasting reproach, withering sarcasm, and stern rebuke. For it is not light that is needed, but fire; it is not the gentle shower, but thunder. We need the storm, the whirlwind, and the earthquake. The feeling of the nation must be quickened; the conscience of the nation must be roused; the propriety of the nation must be startled; the hypocrisy of the nation must be exposed; and its crimes against God and man must be proclaimed and denounced.

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•[Discussion] Have you experienced drift or other issues with your original Steam Deck thumb sticks? Also, people who have replaced their thumb sticks, how has your experience been?English
6 monthsWhen I opened it to swap the SSD I preemptively changed the joysticks with electromagnetic ones from Gulistick. (LCD Model)
It was really quite straightforward, but I would suggest being familiar with some soldering prior (if you want the capacitive touching function). Otherwise, they have great instructions. The case is great for holding it screen down while you work.

They’ve been great, no complaints.

10 monthsOh that’s nice, I didn’t realize the plate swap had new buttons with it. I’ve been tempted to look into it more but it felt daunting - even with a decent amount of experience pulling stuff apart

10 monthsBack button “enhancement set”.
Hated the stock back buttons and just never used them because they lined up exactly with the joint on my finger.
These just stick on with some 3M tape (definitely clean prior to application) and my fingers rest on the buttons now - and they’re way easier to click.
I also grabbed some thumb stick cover things, but those aren’t as “game changing”

1 yearLooks interesting - how is the game loop since it’s a rogue-like? Tedious, or does it feel pretty rewarding?
Game informer is back‽ Exciting
Leave it off for a few days and stick it near a dehumidifier if you have one. As long as it stays off until it’s completely dry it should be okay.
Agree with the other commenter that rice isn’t the best bet. Even if nothing ‘bad’ happens, it can get stuck in the heat sink and/or get moldy if you don’t get it all out.
If you’re really worried, you could take the shell off the deck off and dry the inside.

2 yearsLoop Hero . Picked it up for last week for just under $5 and it’s been a lot of fun.
It’s an Indie rogue-like with a surprising amount going on.
My favorite being is that it mixes a deck builder rogue-like with building a world each run.
The “permanent upgrades” (outside of the game-loop) are pretty interesting as well- building a village/city and managing supplies.
