It’s kinda crazy how many Europeans work in American tech companies only for them to flout EU regulations.

I don’t know how you all are able to read stuff like this.

I acknowledge that articles this like that have valuable bits and pieces in them. But this guy just goes full terminal great man theory in the first paragraph and I have to get up and walk around a bit after reading that.

Main reason is that NATO provides a convenient pretext for maintaining American presence in and around Europe which helps keep Europe subservient to USA. They could keep American troops if NATO is dissolved but that feels like an awkward situation since that is the kind of thing that is usually done to black and brown people of the rest of the world.

Second reason is that the chain of possible events suggested in this piece seems incoherent to me. It goes like: US pulls out of NATO -> EU starts rearming itself -> EU keeps down the untermensch. It doesn’t make sense to me. A natural consequence of US pulling out would be make Europe a little bit more sovereign which would make them more likely to seek peace with power countries.

I think the US wants to push European defense spending up and for doing that it is crucial that they keep NATO around and have NATO military spending requirements around as a pretext otherwise it will be much harder to get public approval for this irrational spending.

US having talks with Russia I put that on Ukraine having been pretty much defeated and US trying to pivot to Israel (maybe China) combined with how attacking Ukraine has been a core republican talking point to attack Democrats.

For Balkanising EU I am not sure about that. Haven’t considered that possibility yet.

TBH US backing out of NATO seems impossible. My guess is that it is all saber rattling to manufacture consent for pushing European defense spending up.

Here’s the thing though. I, the village idiot, knew since the beginning that Ukraine would never inducted into NATO. This became even clearer to me when after the first few months the tried and true combination of nazis and wunderwaffens did not work the way they had hoped it would and publicly claimed it did. I can’t bring myself to believe that Zelenskyy at any point thought being in NATO was on the table. He was probably caught between his American masters and the rabid Nazi dogs. If he had earnestly tried to sign a peace agreement he would have likely been assassinated.

This is not to say that he is blameless but coming at this from the angle of Zelenskyy being tricked is not coherent because it disregards why the war happened and who dragged it on for so long.

Never forget that NATO was collaborating with Nazis and performing false flag terrorist operations in Europe after WW2 to instill red panic and install pro-US leaders.

I feel like people forget he was sort of a segregationist too talking about how he did not what his children to grow up in a racial jungle.

It’s difficult to find information on Google because vague terms like “pro-democracy” are used leaving the readers to imagine what it means.
