While I generally support the proper usage of my Nation’s language, as well as making linguistic education available and fun for all, pedantry on the wording surrounding the horrific deaths of hundreds of innocent men, women, and children is uncouth.

There is a time and a place for everything, and this wasn’t it. I’m sorry to be blunt.

So, so many poorly informed people in here jumping to conclusions, many of which were already ruled out in the preliminary report.

I don’t know any more than what’s in that document myself.

Perhaps some of the armchair aircraft safety investigators in here might want to at least skim the details before coming up with wild theories? Or at least provide reasoning and evidence to support them.

May those who lost their lives, and their loved ones, find peace and closure as best they can once we have all the details. Until then, it would be crass to speculate, especially as non-experts not privvy to the details of the investigation.

It’s an interesting perspective that working class teenagers brought this on themselves.

They generally seem quite restricted in their agency and impact, indeed they are usually the most vocal and proactive age group for bringing about positive change, but the incumbent oppressive system of late stage capitalism (not any one individual, group or organisation, but the collected interests and power of the ruling class put through the lens of capitalism) resists that change with great strength.

If the USA government says it’s not involved, that means it’s involved, right? Every lie from them is a truth these days.

…Why must every single news story about anything happening anywhere in the world somehow be about the USA?

I tire of constantly having America thrown in my face at every juncture, even when they’re not relevant.

I’m curious how they would convert this to be a functional Air Force One plane.

That aircraft is disassembled and reassembled almost entirely on a regular basis to keep it in tip top shape and find sabotage and issues, etc.

It’s also equipped specially with military defences, and of course has an onboard suite of equipment and personnel to run a war from the sky, in air refuelling, etc etc.

It’s an EXTREMELY specialised version of that very reliable aircraft, is what I’m saying.

How would they bring this new plane up to that standard, and why should they waste tax money on doing so? What’s the benefit to the nation?

It all seems ridiculous from the outside looking in. It seems that they’re just trying to appease a stupid man who thinks like a dodgy car salesman, and thus is happy to accept big dumb bribes, always getting the worst end of a deal, when the smarter people play him over and over.

A ritual dance is physical intimidation? I suppose you’d say having aggressive body language (looking angry) is physical intimidation too.

We should put all government officials on valium so they don’t accidentally get too emotionally invested in what they’re discussing, lest they accidentally physically intimidate someone with an angry face.

Obviously ministers with resting-removed-face will have to be permanently barred from attending parliament, for the safety of their colleagues. We wouldn’t want such blatant physical intimidation on the day to day after all.

The point being, if you think a native ritual dance is the same as being physically intimidated, rather than seeing it as their culture’s way of expressing their feelings on some important matters, then you’re entirely missing the point and showing a lack of understanding of your own nation’s culture at a basic level, and probably shouldn’t be representing those same citizens at the government level.

I imagine politicians that clueless would just say “Oh my, the natives have gone feral! Look at that display of raw physical intimidation! Jeeves, fetch my musket and don’t fire till you see the whites of their eyes!”

If you feel physically intimidated by what is essentially some well known and well respected people in a debating hall being angry about the current topic of discussion and telling you they’re angry in a recognised and common cultural manner, then I can’t help you.

Are these guys Labour like the UK’s Labour (basically a centre-right wing party in disguise these days), or are they legitimately a left-wing pro socialist workers rights party, like Labour should be?

If the latter, good for them! They deserve good things over there.

Let’s see if they bother to take any actual real action though, or if they just keep insisting there’s nothing they can do.

I have a vested interest in them actually doing something positive about their situation, because in a few years if they don’t, Europe and her allies will find itself in a World War, defending itself from Fascist USA aggression :-(
