The Steam Deck has touchpads because many games are optimized for keyboard and mouse, not touchscreens. Phone games are not.
I’d assume they want it for Steam remote play

I was disagreeing with the statement “valve doesnt sell hardware at a loss”, which applies to more than just the Steam Machine.
I was unaware that they had said this, thanks for sharing it.
I wasnt trying to imply the idea was to somehow take over PC gaming. My point was just that creating new PC users by offering a console like experience will increase Steam sales.

We dont know that Valve doesnt sell hardware at a loss. Its entirely possible the Steam Deck was sold at a loss on release. The only real thing Valve has said about the price was Newell describing it as “painful”.
It makes sense for Valve to sell hardware at a loss when breaking into a new market. Any purchases are very likely to lead to more purchases on Steam.

According to a thread on the blizzard forums, they just forced this mode onto anyone with a mobile GPU.
However, a few replies say it was fixed my the most recent update. Make sure your client is completely up to date.
I’ll try it on my PC when I have a chance tn.

I have an Air75 from Nuphy that I love. Not super cheap, but it is a really nice low-profile mechanical keyboard. I was very impressed by the feel and quality of it. It works with either a dongle or Bluetooth. If I was buying one now I’d probably go with the Air60 v2 to make it a bit more compact.
Was it? I might be missing something but I dont know which part addressed that. You mentioned getting a steam controller and a mount if they need those features, but not any mention of remote play being why they’d need them.
